Fence Cleaning

"White picket fence," not GREEN!

We clean privacy fencing, dog and horse fences, pool fences, gates, pergolas, etc.  Plastic, vinyl, metal, painted wood, bare wood, etc.

If it's meant to be clean and not green, we have the tools and experience to get it clean.

"Will my plants be hurt when you clean my fence?"

We take all possible precautions to prevent disruption to nearby vegetation.  That includes using EPA Safer Choice cleaning chemicals, pre- and post-rinsing nearby vegetation with lots of water, occasional use of plastic sheeting, and even deferring or declining work when we're called into a "no-win situation.

What's a "no-win situation?"  We'll tell you when we see it, but picture a vinyl picket fence which is covered in algae but also drowning in a fully-bloomed rose bush on a hot day in July.  As in that example, sometimes, the conditions simply don't allow a fence to be cleaned without disruption to plants.  In those cases, we'll tell you if we see anything which causes us concern.

"What's the best time of year to clean my fencing?"

Generally, autumn through early springtime is best, simply because it's easiest to clean a fence when surrounding plants are not in full bloom.  Fencing can be easily and completely accessed at this time.  When nearby plants are in full bloom, it's just a little more difficult because more care needs to be taken around plants which are covered with delicate leaves and flowers.

"What about CEDAR fencing?"

Natural cedar fencing requires a gentle touch so as to not "raise the grain" and leave it looking fuzzy.  For this reason, we generally set aside the power washer and instead rely upon softwashing techniques for cedar fencing, as illustrated below:

"Our fence needs to be cleaned and repaired.  Can you do both?"

We're happy to clean, but we leave repairs to the many folks in the area who specialize in installing, repairing, and replacing fencing.

"Can you knock the flaking paint off my fence before I re-paint it?"

Absolutely.  As with siding or decking, before the paint, stain, or primer is applied, the quality and longevity of your project will depend greatly upon how well the surfaces are cleaned.  With that in mind, remember that cleaning is all we do!
